So, you are not happy in your job. You have tried everything, from hanging out at the coffee station more regularly to see if the caffeine overdose will get you productive to spending most of your waking day on Google searching on “How to be happy when my life sucks”
So, here is a tip, two questions actually, that if you can answer them, will help you be happier, and then be more productive in your job.

When will you productive at work? Which questions do you need answered in order to be happy, function etc?
The top 2 questions were these two, how much more money can I get? or When will I be promoted, but what are we doing, and where do I fit in?
Fascinating. (By the way if you are an employer reading this, do your employees know the answers to these two questions?)
What are we doing?
What does your company do?
Don’t start explaining. It needs to be very simple. And everyone in the company needs to give the same answer.
What does these guys do?
Not even they know exactly what they are doing? So how will they be productive in what they are doing, it they don’t even know what they are doing?
Be sure you know what it is that your company or team is doing?
2. Where do I fit in?
Here you need to know who you are so that you can do your part in “What are we doing?” Know your STRENGTHS
StrengthsFinder are devided into 4 clusters:
Where do you fit in? You are the one who is busy, many things on your list which are actually getting done.
If you are strong in Influential strengths, you know exactly what the company should look like, the reception area, where the chairs must be. Which words to use in emails. Where the clients would like to meet?
Where do you fit in? You are the one who sells the company by being you.
If you are strong in Relational Building, you are the one who keeps the people in the company together. Celebrating birthdays, make sure there is coffee stations, know how it is going with the employees. Really actually care about the well being. Going the extra mile for clients, they are more friends than clients. You love people, and they know you are sincere
If you are strong in Strategic Strengths, you are the one who loves to think! You are the one who needs their own space, even if it is with earphones in an open space. You don’t mind the journey to work and back. You actually love it, it’s thinking time! Where are we going? What is the new strategy? So many ideas! Analysing the whole day, the project or the next opportunity. You are the one who brings in the new and exciting.
